thoroughly enjoyed it ^___^

Love the variation in the melodies. I wasn't once bored with what was going on in the mix, and I have to say you did a neat job with making all the levels balanced. About muddy drums - they're awesome. Maybe a bit understated at the noisier parts especially the kick drum, but it's great nevertheless.

Pitfall responds:

Thanks! I might try a new song with different drums, but with that in mind, I'll see if I can balance them better, as well as make them sound just muddy enough. ;)

Dat. Chord. Progression.

Okay seriously, I love the chords and the way you used them with crazy sounds. Definitely created a vault for the lost archangels with this piece. The best part for me was the pads creating the ambiance in the background, coupled with the synths providing pulsing/stabbing accompaniments. Very neatly done, definite favorite of yours!

I like the unusual chord progression ^___^ Keep it up!

SonicJ responds:

Wow, thanks! I forgot I made stuff like this. As the years pass I try different styles and lose a little bit of originality each time. I'll think about re-orienting myself in this direction!

I enjoyed this!

Not because it was the most masterful production in the world, but I could see the way your style was mixing with the other. I think you took a risk in making a more experimental production in trying to incorporate more than usual, and it turned out to be quite an interesting track. I think you accomplished the trance and piano quite nicely!

Perhaps the thing left to do is to expand upon your great ideas? I see lots of potential!

Nice work!

Werewolfrx responds:

Wow, Thank you for that well written amazing comment. I am glad you listened to the song and that you even actually liked it. Sonicj and I are diffidently going to be coming out with more stuff in the future because of you!

I have never heard the original, so I'm looking at this with no reference.

With that said, I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this song. The gloomy overtones were definitely cast out by the repeating piano riff, and I thoroughly enjoyed the counterplay of the loose/muted drum sounds with the clean strings and echo-y piano. Very nice job!

The mix could have been cleaner overall, but I think it is quite good the way it is. Cheers!

SonicJ responds:

I appreciate your analytical look at my songs, gives me much motivation to continue.
this was my fan song answer to a great answer I watched, so I tried to make it good :p
Muted drums are one of my favorite things to use for songs of this BPM. I found a lot of people didn't like it, but it's an acquired taste.

I love this song. It's varied and textured. It's smooth and simple, but it's complicated and twisted. It really is a city in disguise. Very skillful mixdown and use of atmospheric effects to create a very "wandering in a night industrial city" mood. Masterful!

GershBeats responds:

You're too kind! :)

Very nice work! I can see I have much work to do ;) I like the variety you put in the various sections of the song, but sometimes it didn't really make the song more interesting even though it was different. It was still the same thing over again - not a complaint, just pointing it out. :P

TastyTeo responds:

No you are right, i am being repetitive on almost every song i make, this just needs time for me and more work, this one is experimental though check my other stuff xD

Enjoyed it! Definitely could imagine it in a video game. Keep it up man!

Adriatic responds:

Hey thanks bro for positive vibe ;)

Very smooth. Enjoyed the piano, it was just the right touch to complete the track. Also enjoyed the high sine-ish synth that pops up in the background every so often. I think there might be a bit of overload when the track gets noisier, the bass feels like it's pushing a ceiling. Other than that, great work, I thoroughly enjoyed!

Keep it up mate.

GershBeats responds:

I definitely agree this track is crowded at times!

Regardless, thanks for the kind words!

Very interesting style. I like the combo! Not nearly as bad as the rating suggests. Good work!

Adriatic responds:

WoW man thanks!

The thing is, I may have a good idea, but to
articulate it in FL is still beyond me.. hehe
Your songs have the "flow" in them, I have
much work to gain that "level".

Thanks again.

Here's the thing. You got a helluva talent bro. n__n

The track flows, and the melody is simple and catchy. The fuzzy/blippy bass line really sets the tone of the entire mix - gives it a kind of mysterious feel. When the leads come in with the alternate bass line, the track is full and complete, but there still feels like there's a comfortable wiggle room in the mix which is a really good thing! However, the intro with the harsh bass is a bit too much on my ears, especially with no kick going on and the mix relatively quiet at that point. The sidechaining that comes in with the kick makes the harshness unnoticeable, but at the intro you can really hear it.

Great work yet again! :D

Triented responds:

haha kinda late again on the response.
